I wonder if people who read do feel need to share what they discover. Is reading about being perceptive or influential? Do we have need in communicating the written wor(l)d which was special and moving for us?
We can write here or, for not "spamming" the forum, in group

It was started for those who like the idea of sharing what they read and would like to receive some quotes from others for inspiration and more :)
In a bigger scale I explore communication and solitude in contemporary, so I am just wondering, if sharing is essential part of reading.

"The situation of immigrationleads to a kind of self-othering as well. Displacement results in a tenuous relationship with the past, with the self that used to exist and operate in a different place where the qualities that constituted us wee in no need of negotiation.
Immigration is an ontological crisis because you are forced to negotiate the conditions of your selfhood under perpetually changing existential circumstances. The displaced person strives for narrative stability - here is my story - by way of systemic nostalgia. (...)"
Aleksandar Hemon, The Book Of My Lives
Aleksandar Hemon is from sarajevo, Bosnia and emigrated to the US just before the siege closed the city. He writes in English, usually fiction, this is his first non-fictional book. I was amazed by his observations of human behaviour, the wonderful language he writes in English, so its no translation) and also stories of a simply amazing life...

Thank you, Connie! Oh, wow, this is s strong one! "...forced to negotiate the conditions of your selfhood under perpetually changing existential circumstances", sounds like he caught the essense of immigration just in few words. It reminds what J. Berger writes on immigration, about displacing and the qualities...
Thank you for sharing, I believe its the one to read soon

When I was One,
I had just begun.
When I was Two,
I was nearly new.
When I was Three
I was hardly me.
When I was Four,
I was not much more.
When I was Five, I was just alive.
But now I am Six, I'm as clever as clever,
So I think I'll be six now for ever and ever.
That's written by AA Milne, more famous for his small furry bear, but this one is so perfect. To me at least!

Thanks a lot. There’ve been many times that I wished I’d stayed six – but then I would have missed some other good times too.
