The Dark Night- 13th Aug in Switzerland
Tararara!!!!!!!! Ok, went to see the movie yesterday and.....

1) The best Batman ever!

2) You can't close your eyes for 10 seconds, you will miss half of the plot. It's full of twists, a very rich script. Not just another silly action movie.

3) Ashame Heath Ledger cannot enjoy the terrific critics. It's true, the guy is just outstanding, the perfect Joker. THE vilan. He wipes out all the other actors by his performance.

4) Batman appears as a human being like you and me, not like a superhero, which is actually quite good.

What's your opinion? :)

I totally agree with you, this is the best Batman and probably the best superhero movie. Everything is excellent about it, fast paced action, a great villain, exceptionally good dialogues (yes it is an intelligent action movie and reminds me of V for Vendetta), excellent jokes and as you say you cannot rest two minutes because it is so dense.

The Joker is just fabulous, so scary... what is frightful is not that he is a psychopatic very very bad guy but that he has no other plans than being odious. Some of his dialogues are exceptional, so true that it makes you truly shiver.

Batman is great too. When I was a kid I loved these superheroes and Batman was one of my preferred figures because he did not have supernatural powers, just amazing equipment. However, all these superheroes were too good, no stains on their shinny armors. So I preferred antiheroes... those guys that did exceptional things (those things were exceptional although simple, I am not talking superhero stuff but everyday's life heroes...). These characters were not without shortcomings but did great things. I guess it is my touch of humanity that made me love them... when it is too easy it is not that much fun.

Anyway this Batman is great because he is full of doubts, has to face difficult choices, gives up on love for a greater purpose but in the end it turns out that it is doing more (collateral) damage than good. Sometimes things have to get worse before they improve and in life you are likely to have to go through those periods. I did. Hopefully their are not too long because you start to doubt of yourself of your choices, you wonder if your acts are the right ones. Sometimes doing good is not easy, there is a price to pay that you did not expect. However stick to the good deeds... our world needs them. This is the dilemma Batman faces here and it makes him so much more loveable. It might seem silly because this is supposed to be an action movie but it is intense... full of emotions too.

In a nutshell a truly excellent action movie but with great dialogues and a touch of philosophical whiz. Just excellent and so human.

Looking forward to the fall, a lot of good movies are coming... easy one, lighthearted ones, serious and deep ones, silly ones... cinema is just magic. This big screen is something special, you enter into another world the time of the movie. I like to be close to the screen because that's what cinema is made for... why a big screen if you seat in the last row of the movie theater! Nonsense! You have to be in the screen, not the first rows of course but close enough to be part of it... Widescreens at home help compared to those tiny TVs we were used to have... but cinema is still something special.

Got carried away, time to go to bed!!!

you're righ! Robin seems not to fit in the Batman filmography and I guess a lonesome superhero full of doubts makes Batman more "real".

The Joker made me think of Jack Nicholson in Shinning!
