Re: The bucket list

This is a nice movie, no big surprises but well directed, well acted. The movie is important for its message. This is the story of two old guys that are diagnosed with a fatal cancer, they write down a bucket list, a list of things to do. We should not wait to be diagnosed with a late stage tumour before doing the same.

Since a little more than one year I have done mine. I have realised some of the 'to do things' and erased them, meanwhile I have added new ones. Some are very challenging, some are simple, some are more frivolous and others require some work and patience like starting my wine collection or writing my screenplay. Many things are already in place and I am looking forward to win the Locarno film festival leopard! It will be a social comedy on relationships (love and/or sex). I have been working on it in for quite a while. My regret is that time is so scarce to do all the things I want to do. I am always amazed when someone tells me that she/he is bored in her/his life!

Basically this movie is important because you should not waste your time, you should do things that are important to you and live it to the fullest. Up to everyone to find what really matters to them.

In a nut shell, although this is not a masterpiece (no as poetic as Dead Poet Society for example) it is worth seeing it. And prepare your list! But more importantly do not forget your list when you are entangled in your every day life, come back to it regularly. You will add new things as years go by and you will probably have a happy life!

I agree this was a very nice movie. There were moments that would make you laugh really hard and others that would make you cry.  Rob Reiner is a very good director he has directed many movies but most notably Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, A Few Goodmen, The Story of Us, Alex & Emma, Rumor has it.  He really knows how to make people laugh and has a good way of looking at life.

Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman did a great job delivering lines. It was really balanced on screen with both actor delivering performances that you should expect from them.

I think it is worth the ticket.
