I've read this book and now want to see the movie. I searched if any cinema in Geneva will be playing this film but couldn't find any.
Any advise?

Hi Naurin.
Did you like the book?
I remember seeing it at the bookstore and almost buying it - is it good?
Thanks
Oded

well, the book is good, mainly because of the character of Lisbeth. The plot is also nice, although easy to realize whats`s going on before the end.
Not best book i`ve ever read, but involving, for sure. I`d recommend.

I didn't read the books (once I was thinking to buy the first one to read in the airplane but gave it up when I saw the size of the volume :))
but I watched the three movies instead (you can easily download them for free, DVD-rip quality, in Swedish with English subtitles)...the movies are not bad, especially the first one, no idea on the accuracy of the script though

Melanie, note that this reference is for the first film of the series ("Men who hate women") not "the girl with the dragon tatoo".
I've seen the first film, which I liked, haven't seen the others yet.

Oded, go for it, it's really good. There s a thread on the trilogy in the book section here.
There is a longer version of the movie, a tv show that is currently going on Canal plus every monday. It's a french channel, but I am sure it's going (or will be) on some english channels or is available to dl somewhere.

Oded, I really enjoyed the book. Its a great suspense and as Wanessa said, Liz character makes the book even more interesting. We read it for a book club back in the States and all of us gave it a high rate.
The 2nd one however, I didn't find very interesting (The girl who played with Fire). I read 150 pages and gave up.
Looks like I'll just have to get creative in finding this movie. The once playing in Geneva are probably subtitled in French. :(

Hi, any link to recommend for the movie download? Thanks.
now that I tried to find non-dead links, it seems like it's not that easy anymore meaning that the companies involved start taking the matter of illegal distribution more seriously :)
but "if you will it dude, it is no dream" :)
you can find the first movie below

I am putting my fingers in my ears and pretending that I am not hearing anything about pirating of movies here.
<Lisa resists urge to get out sooapbox>
I've only read the first book "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", which I thought was a bit front heavy, meaning it didn't really get going until halfway through the book, and I think the author could have spent more time on the intersting plotline thann he did expalining the characters.
Having said that, I think it is worth sticking with.
I would love to see the movie but I don't think there is an English cinema here in Lausanne - is there?
Cheers!
Lisa.

Hi Lisa - the cinemas in LSN (both Pathe Galleries and Flon) show loads of english films - a bit pricey (18 Francs - i.e. London premier cinema prices for a two-bit flea pit in lausanne!!) but its worth it if you're gagging for a bit of Russel Crowe!!. If you ever want to go see a film let me know - but with summer months coming on......hmmmmm
