I've just seen this movie this week-end and I really liked it. With a bunch of great and sexy characters, Woody Allen treats how much love can be difficult to handle with a lot (a lot!) of different possibilities, feelings, behaviours, etc.
My english is not very good so I am not sure I am clear when I try to explain my feeling about this movie, sorry. :)
Who here saw this movie? What do you think about it? I am sure everyone felt the same way as at least one of the characters once in his life. ;)
Who is your favorite character and who do you thing you look like the most?
Let's discuss about it!
Cheers :)

Lots of thoughts and feelings provoked for the two American girls who had an enviably strong, considerate and deep (platonic) relationship themselves.
Passion, wants, needs, impulsiveness, thoughtfulllness, decisions, dilemas, action, reflection and I also enjoyed Penelope's ranting and the constant 'please speak in English' - which I must say I found a comically tall order to place on someone in the midst of crisis with whom I had had a mother-tongue relationship with...
I identify most with the character of similar hair colour to mine

I have also seen the movie, but I wouldn't say I can identify myself with any of the characters. I'm neither, I am who I am. :)
I enjoyed the film without thinking too much about myself. Again the actress(not the character) I liked most of all was Penelopa Cruz, thanks to Woody Allen she could show her talent fully. But then again, actors and actresses usually play much better when rarely given a chance to play beyond their "emploi".

Humankind is kind of complicated and of unsatisfied but life should be simple. Well who knows why we are so inconsistent?
Barden's father is so right when he says that despite all what humankind has produced, engineered, discovered, build or written we still lack the most basic of all skill... to love! However I disagree with his attitude of not showing his poetry because he is so disappointed with humans. On the contrary it is in our fragility that lies all the beauty of being humans and not animals. We are self conscious of our shortcoming but our suborned willingness to move on and love is what makes us great... so please share your poetry!
The second thing that made me love this movie is Barcelona. I fell in love with this city and not only the city has great architecture (Gaudi's buildings show that architecture can be poetic... which my brother showed too but that's another story!) and great museums (do not miss the Picasso museum) but I have great memories of those few days I spent there. You know when sometime a place is so great because of the feelings that burned inside you when you were there.
Anyway, I advise you all to go to Paris and visit the Picasso exhibition there. This is the best of its kind that I have ever seen. Picasso mastered all the technics at the age of 18 and tried everything that he could. He was able to paint like great Dutch masters. He then realized that he had to give the world something more and started to explore new ways of expressing the art of painting. In Paris you have now at the Grand Palais a fantastic exhibition were you can see Picasso's interpretation of great paintings. You have the original by a Dutch, Spanish or French master for example and next to it Picasso's interpretations. Books have been published on that subject but it is the first time, I think, that you can see those paintings next to each other. I sincerely urge you to go and see it. It is there until the 2 of February I believe. Try to book your ticket in advance or come 45 mn before the opening to avoid making a long queue.
