I watched the WHATEVER WORKS at the open air cinema and enjoyed it very much, especially the dialogues.

I saw it also and i liked it a lot, i came a little bit late, i am always late....so was sitting in the first row, but apart of this it was great, the dialogs and the relations mishmash. Self-fulfilling through sexual-relation whatever works? Truth?

Well worth watching if you like his movies. Not in the same league as Barcelona though but worth the ticket price.

how "close to the bone" he is in this story about "love" between an older man and a younger woman..........classic woody. you either love him or hate him, but nobody remains indifferent.

Definitely this is an excellent Woody Allen but this is said from a true fan. Dialogues are a pure delight, full of inspired thoughts on life, love and fears.
This grumpy character is just fantastic and his Pygmalion role marvellous. It is so much fun to see the young girl changing from the naïve little lady to a sharp critic of our society to fall so easily into the trap designed by her mother. And her mother than discover the true joy of a pleasure driven sexuality… Yes some things are too much of a caricature but this is what I really love.
In a nutshell an excellent metaphysical comedy as you wrote above! Just enjoy it!
