The beauty of this Pixar cartoon (these guys are simply playing in another league) is that 80% of it is without dialogues. This is the strength of this movies, it conveys a lot of emotions without many words. This is Chaplin times again. The proof you can tell an intense story without all the blablabla. I can only urge you to see again some masterpieces like City Lights.
Back to this one, Wall-E is the last robot left of earth to clean up the rubbish we left. At the beginning the operation was supposed to last 5 years but after 700 years Wall-E is still there, the only robot left, almost alone cleaning up the planet. After these long years he developed a personality. One day something comes from the sky.
The message is simple our extreme consumerism will leave our planet unlivable. The good thing is that the message is clear but they do not insist on it all the time. It is there, present but not invasive. The second message is that 'love' can be as simple as holding the hand of the loved one. I hear your critics but I do believe it can be that simple!
In a nutshell, a masterpiece conveying two important and simple messages.
