This austrian documentary is supposed to give a frightening look on food industry. At least that’s what critics say. The result is really disapointing. We see different aspects of the subject, but they’re always incomplete and there is not the single attempt to reach a synthesis. A French fisherman, for example, tells us that the European Union demands him to write a loogbook where he has to report all the catches he makes, with the location and the time. He thinks that it is because “they” want to rob his expertise and transmit it to the industrial fishers. We are left with this classical plot theory without any counterpoint. What if loogbooks were necessary to manage fish stocks ?
A few interressant hints are given during the movie (EU agrixultural surplus are dumped in Africa, cutting the outlets for local production) but never investigated seriously.
A very superficial work.
