films to watch with teenagers-with or without them

Ok, after my teenage daugther  took me to "Black swan" what could top that?

The good thing about "Black swan" is that as i told my dear daughter

you see, there are worse mothers than me!

anyway i did always try to get her to see some conventional culture so what did i expect?

Last night was the movie

"Lovely bones"

as Bette Midler says, "I have my standards , they may be low but i have them"

It was the story of a teenage girl who gets murdered

I did not expect anything lovely out of that but i must admit that movie

has poetry in it.

It is a horrible story that is every parent^s worst nightmare however the

story of the family and the love and struggle there and the beauty of

a teenager who is about to discover love is tragic but also has some

intense truth i found about appreciating what we have

The story had me in its grip the whole time

i was totally on the edge of my seat, there was no popcorn

it was a horrific tale with beautiful scenery

it made me reflect upon family, and about society and those in society

that destroy young innocent life,

i would strong recommend it if only as a warning to teenagers

not to stray off the path on the way home.

I did not think i would be able to sleep after this movie

but somehow i did

I think it is a quality film which will shock horrify but also add another dimension to seeing the worst crime in society in another light.

It made me think about what life and death is all about

is there another dimension and what happens here in this life

teenagers and all.

A lot to reflect upon

teenagers force you to review your way of seeing the world

and that ^s the way it should be

it certainly opened my eyes to seeing more

as William Blake said:

"If the doors of perception were cleansed ,everything would appear as it is ..infinite"

a film worth renting and watching

even if you dont own a teenager
