Dear Baselites,
I will be moving to Basel in the next month or so from the Lausanne area. Looking at the apartments, hardly any of them appear to come with parking spaces. Should I just forget trying to get an apartment in the centre of Basel with a parking place, or is this possible?
I welcome any suggestions / advice,

Depends what you define as center.
In the Altstadt (inner city center, between Wettsteinbridge and Petersgraben), there is hardly an appartment with a parking place.
Some car parks offer longterm rents, the more central, the more expensive.
Kleinbasel has some appartment buildings with their own parking places, not on the cheap side though.
Probably not as bad as London, but there are many places where parking is not easy.
