Welcome, Josephine. You've come to the right place. :) Lots of friendly, helpful people here. Take a look at the Things to Do page and sign up for as much as you can handle. You'll meet newcomers, people with similar interests, etc. Also, if you are going to something (UN tour, a "must-try" restaurant, etc) by yourself, post it on glocals as an activity and see if someone will join you, too. Chances are good, someone will.

Also, check out the Groups page and join groups that interest you: food, activities, sports, music, Australia, etc.

Before you know it, you'll be running this town. ;)

It seems more and more Aussies are moving over for good - join the club !  Ive been here too long to count - out from Brisbane:))

Dont forget to sign up at the Australian Consulate to register as an Australian abroad if you intend to vote etc. and the consulate manager will be more than happy to supply you with a list of all important addresses even English speaking doctors, dentists etc.

Buy the book 'know it all passport' - (correct me guys if this is not the right title because Im doubting myself now) that you can pick up at the FNAC at Rive!

It is packed with English speaking places to visit, restaurants to try, hairdressers and beauty services to boot - it will be living in your handbag for months (trust me) and of course keep an eye on the glocals community treads for interesting events organized by the locals.

But most importantly WELCOME :))
