Welcome to Glocals!
Doesn't matter if you are brand spanking new or an old _________ (you can fill that up) :P
There is always a very good mix of people you can meet...
Attend one of the Wednesday nights and you will meet all sorts of people...
Cheers

Welcome to glocals and to Zurich!
The 'fish out of water' feeling is something most of the folks on glocals went (or are going) through. It aint nice, but it's a normal part of the process.
The important thing is to not to give in the temptation to just stay in the comfort zone, which is usually the 4 walls of our new apt. Put yourself out there by joining Member-Activities and the coming glocals Zurich Spring Party, and the 'fish period' will be over much fater...(-:
See you soon, Nir

LOVE LOVE LOVE ure subject: Fish out of water. I think that is the best one I have come across in the New Memebers intro forum. I just moved to Lausanne from HK but was in NY for Uni, so although I am italian originally, I dont feel soooo europeanish, if u know what I mean. I love meeting ppl, especially fun, cool and outgoing ones. I see ure in Zurich, but maybe we could organise something either over here or over there... or maybe even half way in between. I am currently looking for a job, so i have quite a bit of time on my hands. Message me if ure ever up for a laugh.

Hi Trina!
I am new in Zürich too, came about 2 weeks ago from Denmark to work here (preety much as everybody else). I recomend you to come this Wednesday there is a meeting for new members at a bar on Limmatstrasse - I am going there! There is a post about this under member activities. Last Wednesday was a lot of fun anyways...Or if you want to meet and grab a drink someday or take a walk, just write to me.
Best Regards
Kristina

I hope to meet all of you in the Hard One tomorrow at 19:00. I'm swiss, but from Ticino, and Zurich is for me a foreign city almost as well as for you ;)
A fish out of water is a nice way to say it. I know another cool one: "a boat in the wood"
Well, this is not exactly the way I feel, 'cause I work here since 10 years, but I was communting every three or four days to Lugano. Since last January I live in Zurich, and now I realize that I don't know the city at all.... :w00t:
So meet you all at the Hard One!
Cheers, Claudio.
