From Alaska to Geneva

Hi all,

Moving to Geneva this week and looking forward to getting connected to the city. I am moving from Alaska after a year stint in Haiti for work. I am interested in meeting new people, exploring the city and outside Geneva.

Even though I grew up in Alaska, I never learned to downhill ski or snowbard so would like to learn here. Any suggestions on good locations to learn would be great.

Interests: cooking, hockey, hiking, walking around neighborhoods, hanging out in coffeeshops, etc.

Any tips or things to check out is much appreciated.

Kaleb

Hello Kaleb,

I am from Vermont. i am no so sporty but I love good conversation (in a quiet place not too noisy a café!)If you want to get a group together for a coffee I would love to hear about Alaska. This is my third time in Geneva, living in Hermance now until April.

Welcome,

Kate

Forgot to say, the best possible guide to this region is Know It All Passport. A book you can get at Payot on Rue Chantelpoulet, nr. Cornavin. It has everything in it. You won't have to spend hours on a computer finding things. I helped write some entries 7 years ago. It is published by Lisa Cirieco-Ohlmann. when I first came to Gva there was nothing like this.
