From Barcelona to Geneva

Hi!

I'm moving to Geneva to start a new job at the end of March. I know the city has the reputation of not being the most exciting in Europe.. but seeing the activity in this website and the fact that 60% of the population are expat I'm pretty optimistic I'm gonna make the most of my time here!

It would be great to start meeting people who share the same interest so when I finally move there I can start exploring the city and surroundings in good company!

About me..Im a 29, Spanish ..but I've been lucky enough to live in South America, USA and the UK so I enjoy an international atmosphere. I like sports (practise and watch them) and going out to explore new places or hang out in a favourite one..and not only during the weekend..i firmly believe theres life after work in the weekdays!

Well, Im looking forward to meet you guys!

Hello!

I actually thought this topic was about the TGV... So my brother lives in Terrassa (Catalunya) and just yesterday we were talking about the TGV that now goes from Geneva to Barcelona. But 18h ride, no thank you! Tongue Out

Anyway... Welcome Cristina!! Glocals is a good place to start, good to get busy and meet people. Have fun!!

I still have to find a room so If you know of anyone renting from the end march-begining of april for around 1000 CHF let me know!!

Yes, it goes thru Paris... dont think 18h trip compensates any plane ticket though. So yeah, easyjet or other flight company is better imo.

Check the classifieds here on Glocals, there are some house adds there as well as furniture (in case you need) or if someone is leaving they might leave the appartment to you!

Best of luck to you! Wink

Hi Christina

Welcome to Geneva! I've been living here for 10 years, I'm Swiss and I speak English, Spanish and French. I love meeting new faces! Looking forward to meeting you if you ever want to do something in the city!

Geneva is a good base from which to do via ferrata in the mountains and scuba dive in the lakes. Don't worry about the social life in Geneva. That's why Easyjet, the TGV and the train station are connected to Europe.
