From Sheffield, to Lausanne!

Hi all. I moved to Lausanne almost 2 weeks ago, for work. I'm loving it so far but really want to make some new friends; to spend free time with ect... Who speak English :) Lausanne is extremely different to where I come from, so I want to make the most of my time here, and experience all it has to offer!! I love to laugh, am pretty easygoing and enjoy most things. So, feel free to get in touch.

Best,

Abbie xo

Hi Abbie,

Welcome to Lausanne,

You will find a surprising number of similarities with Sheffield. It's very hilly, and not so good for cycling, the football team is pretty average, sports facilities are good. People are friendly but direct and talk funny. It's near to the Alps, which is like a stretched version of the peak district. There are two good universities.

For sure yoiu're going to feel at home here 'duck'

;-)

Hey Abbie, I've been in Switzerland for two weeks aswell, for work. I live and work in Neuchatel but spend a bit of time in Lausanne too (it's bigger and has more to do!). I'm enjoying it here so far but need to meet more people! I think we came at the right time for the weather too ;). Are you planning on learning French?

Hey there! :) wow, your as new as I am then :) I love it here so far, and your right about the weather!! It's so nice. I'm not sure of any places yet, where certain things are....or the place you just said you live for instance!! It's all a bit.confusing, but I'm sure I'll figure it out soon. Slowly but surely! Yeah I need to learn French, starting lessons soon :) how about you??

I am yeah! Very glad I decided to move! Well being in Lausanne will be a lot of fun I imagine, and close to Geneva, the alps, etc.! I'm sure you'll love it. Neuchatel is about 70km from Lausanne, on the lake above (Lac Neuchatel). It's quite a small place but it's nice and easy enough to travel around.

I'm starting French lessons next week and I'm here for....who knows! I've got a permanent job luckily so we'll see hey :) so far so good. How about you?
