Greek in Switzerland soon! Any advices & help for job - housing???????

Dear friends,


I am planning to relocate from Greece into Switzerland in November. I have a financial backround with a master in finance from Erasmus University Rotterdam, some banking internship(Greece) and a working experience as finance controller(Germany). Unfortunately, I don t speak German, but my english is fluent, and I can speak some french as well having as mother tongue Greek.


My first priority is to find an exciting job relative to my field but if it is not possible to achieve this very soon, I would like to have some temporary job in order to cover my costs there. Finally, I haven t booked any apartment-room so far and this is also a field I need some guidance. I would highly appreciate any advices, reccomendations and help.

Unless you have independant wealth, it will be hard for you to get an appartment without a job.


Equally it will be hard to get an appartment without a residency permit, and to get that you need to get a job.


Best advice....get a job first, then you can arrange the appartment issues.

Finding a job in Geneva is quite challenging at the moment.  Many people are also looking but it is true that this is the base to get anything else in Geneva.

Thank you all for your advices...It s very helpful info! I am intensively searching for jobs in first place and hopefully after that to start my search for housing.


As I said my main interest lies into a financial sector vacancy but also as a temporary solution to get some irrelevant job. Therefore, any suggestions for finance jobs or any other irrelevant vacancies are welcome.
