Got to Geneva 7 days ago, living off the suitcase at a hotel until I can move permanently. Currently commuting every other week from Boston to Geneva until my wife and I can unwind life there and move here. Currently friendless in Geneva.
I am in my 30s, married, of Indian origin, US citizen looking for friendly souls willing to put up with a freshie! My French currently doesn't extend past the greetings even though I hope to reverse that in due course.
So drop me a line.
Cheers

Hi bJoy and Tasmin,
Nice meeting you! I'm new to the Geneva area from Boston as well. I grew up, studied, and worked in Boston and NYC. I'm looking forward to meeting up with some friendly people and find out what Geneva has to offer.
bJoy, I just spent the summer taking French classes at UNIGE. I loved it, but now that the summer is ending, I may look into classes at Migros Ecole-Club.
Tasmin - Northampton is beautiful. Have you ever been to MassMoca in North Adams?
Cheers,
Kate

Hey all,
I also lived in the Boston area while I was at grad school, and just moved here from New York. Kate, I'm also thinking of taking classes at Migros Ecole'Club, maybe the intensive one that meets twice a week. Have you heard good things? Hope to meet some of you soon!

Hi Susie,
Welcome to Geneva! How long ago did you move here?
This summer, I took intensive French classes at Uni of Geneva and met many students in my classes who said great things about Migros Ecole-Club. Tip: you can take a free placement test (30 mins long) at MEClub and then sit in on a class to see if I would like it before committing to pay. What is your level of French and will you stay here until next September? If so, I totally recommend taking the intensive classes at UNIGE which start at the end of June.

Thanks, Kate!
I just got here two weeks ago. I will only be here through December. I think my level of French is probably A2 or the next level up. I took a quick assessment on the MEClub website. If they are open this weekend, I might try to stop by, as the class I am interested in starts on the 20th, I think.

Wow! I'm so happy to see the Boston love on here! I am also originally from Boston (the South Shore) and lived and taught in Boston for several years. Anyone have a slingbox connection to watch the Pats on Sundays?!
My husband and I just moved here in June. Should we try to organize a Boston meet up?

Go Boston! I'm from Concord. We should indeed start a Boston group and meet, especially for the sports....
Some bars show NFL on international channels, but it's hit or miss which games they'll show and of course they are late, sometimes too late.

Hello! Nice to see there a few people here from home. Great idea to organize a Boston meet up...do you know any bars that show Sox games? Susie - good luck at MEClub.

Do you know if the Patriots game is being played anywhere in the city? It would be on a 7pm here.

@colleen nice to meet you! we'll watch more NFL games over the next few months. Let's hope the Pats keep it up...
@susie The Pats jumped to a 24-0 lead in the 2nd quarter on their way to a 38-23 win. are you coming next week?
