Hi everyone,
I'm Laura Oliva, 22, and I'm a student. In fact, I'm gonna come to Geneve in March 2014 in order to do a 3-months internship...it is self-explaining that I'll need a room for that period!! So, I'm searching for a room in Geneve or nearby. The person that suggested me this social, said me that I could live in Ferney-Voltaire, for example. But...is this the right website for my needs? Because I really can't find an AFFORDABLE room!! I'm a student with only a scholarship to survive with, because the internship is not paid, so c'mon!!
Please, I need an help...juts tell me if I will find something fulfilling my needs if I keep on searching or I'm on the wrong way!
Thank you very much everybody!
Laura.

its a little difficult to give advice when you don't say what your budget is or where you have searched so far. geneva university has a website dedicated to "living in geneva" - start there, if you haven't yet. also, they have a budget breakdown for students which is quite realistic (sadly). if you are very lucky, you might even get a room in one the student residences, they are generally open to interns. check local notice boards (anibis.ch?) for flat shares & sublets.
no, glocals is not a website where people are in charge of finding you accommodation. glocals classifieds is just one of the many ways you need to try. we've all been there. good luck - you'll find something.

Hi Giselina,
thank you very much for your answer!
Ok, I'm so sorry I didn't specify the amount of the scholarship, it was just a silly mistake. The scholarship is 500 euro monthly. Then, by writing this, I have to specify that I'm able to spend all that amount only for the rent, and I'll use my savings for daily-life and travel expenses. So max price of rent affordable for me: 500 euro. I didn't specify the amount of the scholarship also because it would have take long to explain all the things I've just written, and that was not what I wanted to communicate.
I really wanted to understand only if this website was for real the right website for searching for rooms and rents or the website's purposes are others, and therefore it is not much specialised on rooms and rents. Because the girl who suggested me Glocals, told me it was a SPECIALISED website, specialised in rents...but it didn't seem to me...so, I just wanted some advices about that, no more! It is a very good website, though :)
By the way, thank you very much for your precious advices, they will be useful for sure!
Best wishes,
Laura

Hi Laura,
I am also looking for a room and got this link recommended.
http://www.ensembleavectoit.com/index.php?dispatch=pages.view&page_id=29
This is an association where you subscribe and you can have a room in a family. Rent can be reduced if you are ready to give a hand.
Cheers
