Hi,
I'm a new member, looking for some information. I have decided that I would like to live in Europe (as opposed to the US), and am looking for information.
I want to come to Geneva for a few weeks/month to see if it fits what I am looking for. Last fall I spent a month in Paris, and have previously spent time in Munich. I have been through Geneva before (on ski trips), but have never spent much time there and want to know what it is like on a day to day basis.
Obviously, I am somewhat older than the average expat one runs into, but no less serious about moving to Europe. I would appreciate any information anyone can send me. I am particularly looking at this time for info pertaining to apartments in Geneva, and in what areas are good/stay away from. I would appreciate all the help I can get.
By the way, are there any expat females over 35/40?
Thanks.
Merrill

Welcome to GoL. Geneva is a great place to live. It is very centrally located, so if you travel a lot it is really easy to get just about anywhere in Europe from here. The skiing is great (when we have snow) and the hiking in the summer is fantastic. My husband and I moved here a year and a half ago from the US and we really love it. I don’t know a whole lot about apartments, but there are a lot of listings in the “Market Place” on GoL.
GoL has made a big difference in our social life and you will find people of different ages, so no worries about feeling “older”… that is just a state of mind anyway! ;)
Good luck! Hope to see you around.
