I suggest glocals groups: International Geneva Book Club, Women's Book Club, Mundo Lingo, Photography group, a facebook group: Swiss Media Professionals, and Impact Hub Geneva. There are a lot of creative like-minded individuals to interact with there.:)

I have too much of free time during this end of year, if you want to walk in Geneva, practice French and have a nicely flavored drink after (be it tea or coffee) I'm happy to join.

A nice place to go is Bains de Paquis. Best fondues there too. For real teambuilding do jump in the lake after sauna warm-up! 

Hey, I have been in Geneva for a while but also travelled a lot. Always happy to meet and welcome new people! 

The weekend is fast approaching, so a decision needs to be made:

1. Photo walk and tea, or sit down social around a warm drink?

4. Saturday or Sunday?

For a photo walk, the weather forecast is slightly better for Saturday.

Remember, however, that this weekend is the Fete de la Escalade and the central Geneva area will be packed, starting at around 14h. Sunday afternoon the park de Bastions will be packed for the procession that starts there at 17h

I will probably go for a photo walk with my 10 year old daughter, who I just gave an SLR camera, on early Saturday afternoon, on the park along the lake, from the Perle du Lac to the Pont de Mont Blanc. We will sit down for a warm drink afterwards. If you want to join, send me a private message.

I will also be happy to join on early Sunday afternoon.

I want to thank people so much for their posts! So many of these are so helpful and I would really like to hang out with all of you. I made the cardinal sin of deserting my own thread - unfortunately, I was really unexpectedly ill for a bit soon after posting.

JR makes a very good point about the Fete de la Escalade this weekend. Bastion will be packed starting Sunday late afternoon, so if people want a hot wine and maybe take some photos of whatever fall color is left and some of the Christmas cheer, maybe earlier on Sunday as he suggests?

Perhaps meet Sunday @ 2pm at the hot wine stall at Bastion Christmas Market?

I was there yesterday and it was very crowded, and indeed, more than one hot wine stall.

If some can organize at the last minute (Uta?) you will need a mobile phone contact. I consider the East gate the front gate (towards Victoria Hall). But there is another "main" gate on the West end.

I'm Zsofia, a Hungarian-French-British twentysomething who works in public & global health. Currently at United Nations HIV/AIDS agency. I like to learn rogue new languages (Turkish being the current favourite), make art, produce and mix electronic music, and exercise. 

Photography walk sounds lovely, as does going to a tea house. Went to L'Escalade & market at Bastions yesterday and it was fabulous, I'd be glad to return for more food and mulled wine.

I know some people are interested in a second meet-up attempt? So maybe we could try a tea house this time? Would people be more available on the weekend or an evening after work? I assume a lot of people are getting busy because these are starting to he holiday weekends.

Our last meeting was so fun that we've decided to do it again. We're repeating last time - having coffeee and tea at the same place, Café Remor, since it worked so well and that's what people want to do. 

Also, we made it on the weekend so that those who are working regular M-F hours and missed last time hopefully wil be able to there this time.
