Jobs search in Geneva

Hello everybody,



I am from Senegal, new in town (january 2009), just joined my wife who found a job with an international organization here in geneva: I am looking for a permanent job or consulting position in international marketing, business development, communication, or investment promotion in developing countries.



I will be happy to hear from people who could help me in my job search.

Here are a few websites you can look at in order to check out the latest offers:

www.jobup.ch (the biggest one)

www.monster.ch

www.jobs.ch

www.jobscout24.ch



The biggest placement agencies in Geneva and Lausanne are the following:

Adecco

Page Personnel and Michael Page (the later is for executive positions)

Manpower

Selectus

William Elliot (specialized in marketing)

Hays (consulting services themselves and they have a placement agency as well)



That's all I can think of for now.

for jobs in the international organizations you should try typing UN JOB OFFERS GENEVA (find the right site - i dont have it on me as im writing this but its easy enough to find) and follow the instructions to upload your CV (it takes ages to complete) but you will have access to all the UN and some NGO's that still seem to have job openings when the rest of Switzerland is slowing down.  The local headhunters will very unlikely have any job offerings in the international organizations. Try WHO I know they are going through some major reorganization and this may be a good time to apply.  good luck.

Yes, I feel the crisis has also touched Switzerland.
I am Spanish and the unemployment there has already reached nearly the 18%, and as many others I've been a victim of the finantial crisis.
My situation is similar, I moved here because my boyfriend was transfered here by his company and I'm looking for a job as secretary/administrative.
