Please let me introduce myself; I'm Stu (30 yrs old) just moved from UK to basel just over a week ago to start a new job.

A warm welcome to Basel and enjoy your stay.
Just check the Member Activities, join those that appeal to you and you will soon fill up your adress book. Right now its Carneval time around Basel and its crazy, I guess you will soon see that. There is the fire parade this afternoon which will take place in Liestal, and tonight Basel doesnt go to sleep for they go directly to the Morgenstraich, thats one of the biggest events around Basel. You will see it anyway no need for me to tell you. On Monday and Wednesday afternoon they will be a Cortage around Basel, they will be processing with their beautiful costumes etc. Attend one of those you will either love or hate it. I recommend to love it since most of the people from Basel are crazy about that.
