Funny, just last week I took a bike to Lausanne from Geneva :)

Anyway, Hannah, I see you point, it isn't so easy to make real friends in Geneva when everyone are focussed on a job and/or family.

The best is to follow event on Glocals and find sth that interest you. E.g. good way to grab a drink and make friends is to participate in the language exchange events (like Alberto's every Wednesday evening). For cycling there were events as well, but I guess nothing during winter.
