MOVING TO ZURICH! Need help :)

Hi everybody!

Was suggested to join in here! Great website! :)

I'm just writing this here because I am in a very urgent situation, hopefully someone know something, or someone who knows something... and so going on. Networking is always a great channel :)

I am basically moving to Zurich because 1) I am fed up with being underpaid and  exploited in Italy, 2) I love the mountains, 3) I like being in an international context!

I'm coming over in about 2 weeks and I URGENTLY need to find a job :).

I speak Italian, English, German, Spanish and the basics of Russian, French and Dutch (working on it!). I'm studying as translator/interpreter and working as free-lance translator onlne.

In the past 2 years I've been working at the airport of Milano Linate as hostess (check in and boarding), so I would love to work in the same field again. However, I also worked as hostess/translator at exhibitions and congresses, as VIP (TV programms, but behind the scenes! :) ) hostess, receptionist, secretary and some more.

I also worked for a total of 3-4 years in bars and restaurants and would also take a job in this industry.

Anything that allows me to settle in Zurich!

I have a car, am motivated, positve :)

If you might know something and would like to see my CV for more detailled nformation, I will be happy to send it!

Thanks all of you who have any hints, who know anything and who are taking the time to read my message! :)

Wish you a great day!

Cheers!

Ciao Fabrizio,

grazie, ho notato :) in effetti non so perché abbia scritto così, noralmente ddico "check-in and boarding agent" :) sono 3 giorni che sono attaccata a pc 13 ore al giorno, inizio ad essere cofnusa!

Comunque grazie mille!

@Reika:

The message above was written after having spent 13 hours in front of my laptop for the 3rd day in a row. I started being a bit confused! I've been writing so many emails, applying to so many jobs, subscribing to so many forums and websites that sometimes I'm not sure what I'm doing anymore :)

As I just said to Fabrizio as well, I actually don't know why I described the job with the word "hostess", since the position is normally described as "check-in and boarding agent" - and that's what I also usually write. As hostess I meant "exhibitions and congresses"... and I see what you meant with unwanted replies! There are some freaks out there... :)

As regard my post, I would still like to leave it on for a while - unless it is against the forum rules. As I stated in my original post, I think that any channel that involves networking might be worthwhile to be tried out. Especially given that I am in the urge of finding a solution.

I am already receiving a lot of suggestions (websites, hints that I wouldn't know  if I hadn't asked for help on this forum) and nicemessages of good luck.

Thanks for your reply and have a nice day!

Ps. Even though I - obviously - only translate from English (Spanish and German) into Italian, I already had my CV translated into English and proofread by a English native speaker mothertongue, in order to make sure it would be flawless - and I would pay a bit more attention to what I'm writing if I were officially applying for any job.
