Moving to Geneva and Need Housing help

Hi,

My name is Ashley and I am moving to Geneva at the begining of Septemeber and would greatly appreciate some feedback on housing.

Could people let me know the good and bad areas to live in?

What are some areas in and around the UN area that are good to live in but not completely overpriced?

Does anyone have any reccomendations on housing in general- complexs, companies, good websites etc?

Thanks

Hi Ashley,

Check here www.homegate.ch

There's also a facebook page 'Apartements a louer'

Geneva is overpriced, the only possibility to get a decent price is to know someone with an old rent and get his/her appartment but even with this sometimes the renting agencies keep those flats for them. It is also difficult to get an overpriced flat so parepare yourself :)

I don't know much about that part of the city but avoid Paquis froRue des Alps to Rue de Prieure, very noisy and a bit dogy in weekends.

There you go!

Another thing you need to do when you arrive is asking me for a beer, not to miss!!

see you around,

Hi!

Look at my ad on glocals for a studio in Ferney-voltaire with wifi, its own garden etc etc.  Perfect place to live, and very easy and quick to the UN with the F boss.  Nearer and quicker than many places in Geneva.

One-room furnished ground-floor independent studio in unique character house with large idyllic mature garden in central Ferney. Kitchenette, fridge, microwave, shower etc. Private garden area for studio tenant with large hammock shaded by vine, honeysuckle and kiwi tree. Close bakery, shops, buses to Geneva and aiport, and all Ferney amenities, but amazingly still a rural paradise (cows at end of garden). Off-street parking. Access to basement washing machine and safe storage of luggage, bicycle etc. Rent:  chf 1000 PCM. Charges - power, heating, wifi, water etc - an additional CHF 150 pcm. Ring David Lewis on 00 33 4 50 40 52 92 (home) 022 717 2002 (work) 079 217 0922 (mobile). or email on [email protected]
