Hi everybody,
My name is Ariana, I am a 26 year old I just moved to Nyon from USA but I am originally from Brazil. I will be working as an au pair starting in November as a way for me to take some time out, learn a new language-French,a new culture and hopefully meet some fun people. Please get in touch if you can relate to my situation and want to meet up or if you just want to chat. Any advice on the best ways to meet new people would also be great...;)

Firstly welcome to Switzerland! You've chosen one of the perfect times to come (the other being the start of summer) (err...only if you like snow actually)!
Will you be working in Nyon? It's a cool town! I live 10-15 minutes from Gland up into the Jura so Nyon is somewhere I spend quite a bit of time when not working!
As for finding others in a similar situation, there seems to be MILLIONS of Au pairs, and I've spoken to/met a fair few on Glocals, so you're definitely in the right place, I'm sure you'll find plenty of cool people on Glocals! Personally for me, I've met a lot of people through the gym I go to, so if you're planning on going to one that's a great way to meet people! Otherwise, through chatting on here, or the new members drinks activities (...which after years, I still haven't been to), being in Nyon, you've got good rail access to Geneva! Also, just generally wandering around and going about your business, you'll find people here can be quite friendly!
It may seem a little sleepy upon your first look, but there are things going on, honestly!
