New in town

Hi everyone, my name is Sarah (please pronounce it french^^). Origin I am from Germany.

After my bad au-pair experiences in south of France, I arrived this weekend in Swisserland at my very lovely new au-pair family. So my new home is between Genève and Nyon.

This web site is amazing, I'va already found myself more than 10 activities. I am very interested in learning how to snowboard. I've just stood 2 times on ski, but in summer time I am mostly surfing so I thought let's try another board with another enviroment.

But also I want to improve my french by meeting new people around here and having lots of fun & a good time. My french is on A2 level, good enough to get though easy conversations. My french course here didn't start yet.

Ohh and I need to buy myself outdoor clothes, if there is anybody who knows the good but CHEAP STORES around and/or is INTERESTED IN A SHOPPING DAY WITH ME (normaly I don't like shopping-tours), please let me know ;)

Cheers

Sarah

Hi Sarah

A warm welcome to Switzerland, and thats great that you are on snowboarding already.  I see you already went to the "Things to do" and you found out what you really like to do. With that said properous New Year and enjoy your stay in Switzerland, Geneva is a beautiful and international place. And the area has so much too offer. Please dont forget to come and visit us in Basel for we have the best Carnival not to talk about Meseum Week which will soon be on.

Good to see you in here.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay here!

I have never done  snow boarding but I like ice skating and sledding.

I know few good places to buy sports/ outdoor clothes. There is sale everywhere now! i will try the ochsner sports. I have heard we can buy good and cheap stuff in Pontarlier which is in France and about 1.5 hours frome Lausanne by train. let me know if you are interested, we can go together!
