New to Geneva/Nyon
Hello Everyone,

My husband and I arrived in the greater Geneva area about one month ago and will move to our more permanent housing in Nyon this week.  Are any other members around the Nyon area?  Can anyone tell me if the Latin (mexican) food restaurant near the lake is good?

I also enjoy running and was wondering if there are any groups that meet to go on a weekly basis?  If not and there are others who would like to start a group, I would be open to doing that too.  Please note that I am not a fast runner since it has been a month since I have done regular runs and my mileage (or km) in an average run will be low at the start.

Look forward to hearing from other members!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I have moved to Switzerland 3 weeks ago with my partner and I do not have any friends yet so I would be very interested to do some meetings etc...

I am living in Gland which is 5 min. drive from Nyon and I have French classes there twice a week.  My partner Carlos play Rugby in Nyon and we go to the fisher mans pub after every game for a drink.

I do not know much about the restaurants yet but interested to find out :)

There is my private e-mail address [email protected]

Regards

I've been to Cafe Latino often for a meal but I always seem to order the same thing.  Keep in mind it's not a Mexican restaurant, it's South American.  Although I haven't met him, I think the owner is from Peru.  They make a pretty good Pisco Sour, if you're thirsty.

There's a new Thai resto in Nyon which is quite excellent and worth a try.

Hello Jennifer,

If you do start a running group in the Nyon area, would you let me know at [email protected] and I can let other readers at http://www.livinginnyon.com/about it? I have received a few similar requests from others about running so it would be good to let them know too. I did put one running route on the site a while ago but I would like to put some more on there. I'm sure you will like living in Nyon, I certainly do!

Kind regards

Catherine

Hey Jennifer,

I moved to Nyon almost a year ago with my husband and we love it! While I've never been to Cafe Latino, I can definitely recommend a couple good restaurants in the area, as we are total food-nuts and are always looking for good places to eat.

I have also been running a bit and have found a great loop through the vineyards with incredible views. It's about 3 miles, but has a couple hills, so it ends up being a nice run. Let me know if you are interested in checking it out sometime (when it stops raining!)

Hope you like Nyon as much as we do!
