Dear Members,

I am a 35yr old female Uganda, married, two daughters (5 & 8yrs) and will be relocating to Geneva in October to take up a post with one of the UN agencies.

I have very limited travel experience with one trip to Kenya (1 week) and another to UAE (4 days). This trip will therefore offer me so many 1^st (e.g. 1^st time away from my family for longer than 1 week, 1^st time relocating, 1^st time in a temperate region etc).

I will travel alone 1^st and then my family will join me at a later date after I have settled in (i.e. identified schools for the girls and found a place we can call home).

My hubby is an auditor and would love very much to relocate after he has found a job- all the help offered to get him a job will be appreciated.

In light of my meagre travel experience, I will be asking seemingly naïve questions from time to time and I am counting on the Glocals members to induct me – Iam a first learner!!!  The forum about “deals” will go along way in helping “newbies” like me find their way around.
