Welcome on board. Always nice to meet someone who has passion and activities in social life. As to rock climbing I believe you should contact a member "mjlothar" she is in rock climbing and admin group with such name. She did earlier this year organized a rock and glacier event in Zermatt. That's worth trying. Otherwise do look it up into Events,Things-to-do and Groups in Geneva, Lausanne Fribourg and Bern all within short distance to meet Glocals and find your delightful activity. Hi Rosanna -

Like you, I recently arrived in Switzerland and, while work was the nominal reason for moving from the US, the true motivation was to get closer to the mountains!  I'm a fairly experienced rock and alpine climber and would love to get out. I know some of the areas around Chamonix fairly well but would be great to explore other areas. Welcome suggestions and will look at the resources cited by other posts. In fact, I'm aiming to get into the mountains this weekend, so let me know if you're game!

Thanks for your reply. I am definitely up for some outdoor climbing before the weather gets too cold and wet! I am back in the uk this weekend but am about after that if any good? I have friends in chamonix too so that sounds great. Anyway, will def keep in touch. Are you living in geneva too?
