New to glocals

Hello,


My name is Dilen and I am from Cambodia (not sure people know it as it is really a tiny country in Southeast Asia). Anyway, I am new to glocals and frankly speaking this site makes me feel a bit more welcoming to Lausanne. I have just moved to Lausanne 3 and half weeks ago. I am certainly keen to meet and make friends here. As I don't speak French at all, life seems challenging. So if any of you who just moved to Lausanne or the residents of this beautiful city would like to meet up for a coffee or any social activity you would like to introduce, I am certainly up for it.


My favorite sports are volleyball(not beach volleyball), treking, hiking. I also do couple dance (Lindy hop/swing) if you ever heard of it. I have tried to search Lindy social dance but it seems not a popular dance here at all.


Anyway, PM me if you would like to meet up. I am free in the morning and best day to meet would be Sat and Sun.

Just check the Member Activities, join those that appeal to you and you will soon fill up your adress book. Dont forget to come and visit us in Basel

Welcome to Lausanne:) With such interests, you will find good teams to play with or go out with soon, I am sure. There are hikes organized by glocals members almost every week. And google fete de la danse lausanne, which took place last weekend. There was a Lindy hop class there, so you can check the name of the teacher.

and learning french is a great start! I was too busy to learn it first two years, but when I got time, I really loved it! I found french friends that way.

I am French native but I am from Cambodia also. It’s a pleasure to find someone who has the same origin!


Unfortunately I am not based in Lausanne but in Geneva for 3 years with my boyfriend.


However we can exchanging by email : you can send me in French and I will reply to you in english (I speak khmer but I don’t write and read it)

An accountable amount of gratitude to you. I have checked the site. It was of great help. I look forward to social activities. I did the hike from Puidoux to Rivaz. It was really amazing. I love it and look forward to such Lausanne landscape elsewhere.

your name sounds certainly Khmer. Wow, that would be great. You know what, I have just started learning French three days ago. I won't dare to write you in French but we should keep in touch. I will be down to Geneva at somepoint. I was there for the uni presentation, the Graduate L'institute. I will try to get into this uni and if I am lucky, I will in Geneva during the day and back in Lausanne at night. That said, I will be in Geneva for two years for my master program.
