I've just moved to Switzerland from the UK. I work as a nanny for a family in Buchillon. I'm hoping to meet new people for coffee, drinks, museum trips and to generally explore this beautiful country.

Hi Chloe - a warm welcome to Switzerland, and enjoy your stay. Am sure you will find lots of contacts around Lausanne. Just go to the Rubric "Things to do" and check what you would like to do and voilla then you would be doing a lot. Come and visit us around Basel, we have the best carneval in the whole country.
with that said, have a great time.

It's a wonderful place to live and no doubt you will be very happy in Lausanne. There is, as others have said, lots of interesting things to do.
Buy for yourself a half tax abonnement so that you can travel everywhere for half the cost on trains and boats.
That said, take a day trip and come over to see us in Evian - it only takes 30 minutes from Ouchy [and secret........... it's so much less expensive this side]!
