So what shall I say about myself?
I am 44 years old in a few weeks time, I am British - though I prefer to say English as it annoys the Scots and the Welsh - I am separated, and getting divorced, with two teenage daughters still living in Swindon, and I work in IT. God, do I sound boring.
So what do I like to do?
I love playing games, like poker, chess, backgammon, board games, Euro Games, and wargames. Yep - I really, really sound boring. I should also add that I playtest games at the design stage and I have also designed a few games and have made a little money out of them. I should also add that I do not play computer games. I playing my games with real humans.
Others things that I do - I walk in the mountains. I cycle. I visit art galleries. I read books. I love films. I listen to music. I write fiction. I keep a blog. I write a lot of e-mails. I will discuss any topic under the sun and some people find me a little to "up front" - well the British do, but I find that foreigners don't. Perhaps one of the reasons why I am living here. I also like drinking beer. And I have no sense of humour.
I am not a natural party animal, I prefer my social encounters to number less than those that can be comfortably accomodated around a large round table - where all can hear and talk in equal measure. I also like wearing cardigans and I have had my sense of humour bypassed.
Sorry I have started to repeat myself. I will shuffle off this virtual coil.

Welcome to an Old Brit from another Old Brit working in IT. I am also English not Scots or Welsh.
You should find plenty of others like this here on the site plus a few foreigners for variety :-)

And you don't sound nearly as boring as you think you do! I, for one, think that your job sounds like many people's dream job. It seems like there has been an increase in the number of 40+ members lately...interesting...must be something in the air!

Welcome to the community, old timer...(-:
Great to have you here with us, and looking forward to meeting you in person.
I am a bit younger (not much...), but it seems we like a lot of the same things.
Welcome to the community.
