Opera Singer coming to Geneva!

Hi Everyone!

I am moving to Geneva in January and am still looking for a place to live. I will be singing at the Grand Theatre de Geneve and was wondering what parts of Geneva are closest/easiest to travel from to get to the opera house. I need a place for a year. Any ideas on how to go about finding a place quickly and easily without much time?

Thanks!

Stephanie

Geneva is a small city, so anywhere in or near the center will be fine. Even if you live in in the outskirts you'll be in the center in 20-30 minutes (by car or public transport).

Your theater is in the area called Plainpalais, which is very pleasant and lively. The area called Carouge is nearby and great as well. The downside of these areas is parking, so if you plan to use a car you may prefer to be a bit further away.

Finding an apartment in Geneva is difficult, certainly if it's on short notice. You may want to hire an agency to help you, that can keep track of offers, organize paperwork, and help you navigate through the city.
