Originally from Belgium, living in Barcelona and now moving to Zurich after the summer.

Dear members of the "Glocals.com Community in Zurich"

This
October, I will move to Zurich and I will be pleased to extend my network and meet interesting people with who I can share my hobbies and show me the city.

In Barcelona, I am used of having a good social life and outdoor activities with friends. And I don’t want to miss it once I will be in Zurich.

Used to deal and treat with people from different nationality & religion in an international environment, which gives me an open mind mentality, aptitudes for understanding and respecting the culture of people around me.  Having parents from 2 different cultures gave me advantages such tolerance, communicative, cultivated and languages skills. Thanks to my international professional background in the Benelux, Spain and USA, I enjoy working in multi-culture teams.

During several years, I work in the fashion industry and Luxury consumer Goods.  If someone need some advice about style or company for shopping, just let me know ;-)

Also, I am interested in finding someone with who I will be able to practice my German (Oral/written) during a period of time.  I speak fluently English, French and Spanish and I do understand Dutch & Portuguese but some notions of German.

If you have any ideas, suggestions, just let me know!

Thank you for all and best wishes.

Julie A.A

PS: If someone knows a good real estate agency for renting apartment in Zurich, it will be great!

Dear Julie,

Welcome onboard to the Zurich glocals community!

I think this is one of the best things you have done before moving to Zurich, signing up on glocals! Be aware, your social life is about to change ;)

We are a friendly bunch of people who like to do different activities from time to time. Be it hiking, skiing, cycling, clubbing or going out for a drinks (and getting drunk)..LOL :P

I organize a monthly event called NMM (New Members Meet) where there are a lot of newbies and oldies getting together and having fun.

See you in October...

Till then, take care
Cheers
Ehsaan

Dear Julie,

I lived in Zurich until just a week ago. We were a bunch of happy, friendly expats and locals  who met every thursday for drinks at different bars in Zurich. The group is for everyone to join at facebook, called Thirsty Thursday or get in contact with Mark Collins, who organizes it  and greet him from me.

Unfortunately I can not give you any tips where to find an appartement...

If you need any tips please don't hesitate to get in contact with me.

I hope thta you will enjoy Zurich.

Kind Regards,

Gabriella
