Public school for non-French speaker

Hello everyone,

I recently moved to Geneva from Botswana and would like some advise on public education in Geneva. My kids aged 13 and 11 are non French speakers and I would like to enrol them in a public school here in Geneva. I  live in Servette area.

Anyone who has had the experience please share some tips and how to go about to enrol them.

Thank you.

All children are supposed to be registered for school within three days of entering the country. It sounds like one child would be in primaire and the other in cycle d'orientation. Here is the information on the ville geneve website https://www.geneve.ch/themes/structures-accueil-enfance-activites-extrascolaires/ecole and specificall for the department where you register kids for school https://www.ge.ch/organisation/direction-generale-enseignement-obligatoire. Allocation will be based on where you live. They have a special transitional programme to get kids up to speed with French before putting them in the main system.
