Doesn't CERN provide accomodation for its interns?

Thanks for the heads-up. As to accommodation provided: they have a hostel arrangement but that only accepts people over 18.

you probably did it, but I'd push to see if they'd make an exception in his case. I'd do that cos the real estate situation in Geneva is real tight, and he needs a place for 2 weeks he'll need a lot of luck finding something. 

Worse case he can always go to a cheap hotel. but it will be more expensive and less homey than the CERN hostel. 

Hi  volker,  i have two boys 16 and 18 english and french speaking and I would be happy to have your son with us for 2 weeks.  i live in Vernier and it would take your son 10 mins on the tram to get to Cern. The only thing is my appartment has  only 3 bedrooms and it's not really big so if you get a better offer I completely understand.  i am also not the best cook in the world but we are a Scottish family and we're nice - even though I say so myself so if you get no better offers then let me know - Silvia

i think cern should be able to accomodate him, especially in a circumstance like that. i've arranged with the hotel/hostel before...they tend do tbe a bit difficult. 

if he needs some guidance around the building, he can contact me. 

i unfortunately can't host since im also moving to a new place soon.
