Vevey House Dad

Hello all well I am going into week 3 and can honestly say it has not been easy. Shell shocked to be honest but more than willing to dig in. I have moved countries before - but always to English speaking countries...Scotland to England...England To Canada ...Canada To US briefly....and now Canada to Switzerland. I have given up my career to support my new wife. I thought being at home would be easy and no doubt once we move into our house in Blonay June 1 and out of the apartment things should get better.

I am looking for some company just to have a chat , I don't drink so I find that awkward sometimes but I am extremely outgoing - I run , bike, hike and swim. I  would love to kick a ball again I am 47 so nothing to serious. I like to fish, dance,  sing etc...and a good sense of humor , I have been told I make friends fast so any other individuals out there men or woman ( its safe girls really it is) who may want to reach out then message me or even offer advice on here. Cheers James

Hello! I actually joined glocals to find somebody to play tennis with... but you are the first one of my age (I am 50) and I just decided to contact with you. I am living in Lausanne and meeting someone daytime would be nice. I am a house-wife, for 10 years now already and it seemed interetsing because you said you have given up your career to support your wife.                                                     I am Estonian, my English is ok, French is really poor and that's a problem here.

Hi James, welcome to Switzerland and to the Swiss Riviera! I live in St-Légier (have been living in the area for five years now and 10 yrs in Switzerland), i'm Italian and speak fluent English and French. Should you need any tips about this area,  any help with the French, or maybe just want to go for a walk along the lake, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me, I will be more than happy to help.

Cheers,

Fiorella

Hi James

Welcome to Switzerland - have been in this country for more than 30 years. I know the area you live very well and its very nice. There are lots of English speaking people in that area. Take the small train from Montreaux or you can hike, fly, cycle over to Rochers de Naye or Caux - its a beautiful place. When you pass Glion then you will know what I mean. Its worth it for going up there you dont have to speak French nor German - most people over there are holidays.

Have fun whilst exploring - and feel at home in Switzerland its a nice place to be.
