well, for instance I liked what someone said in a forum thread. But it felt a bit strange to 'thank' that person. for example, someone said the movie Avengers is 10/10 because Thor is hot. :-) 

Or I liked a photo. And I didn't want to comment. Or I liked an activity, (but I can't go). Something like that.

if not a 'like' button. Maybe we have 'nice' or 'cool' or 'great' or 'awesome' or 'c'est vrai!' or 'super!' button? hehehehe :-)

Or How about emoticons? A smiley, a sad face, or :-/ ?

Just a thought. :-)

something usefull (at least for me) would be a pop-up telling you that you took so much time to write your post that somebody else posted something new so your post has become useless....

If you're referring to my post, I paused to eat! :-) Anyway, my post wasn't made moot, was it? Because I still remain with my point, that I would 'like' a comment like 'Thor is hot', but won't necessarily 'thank' the poster for that comment.

I saw Casuistik's point, so I commented around glocals saying 'i like this'. :-) Works for me. but yeah, maybe after 50 posts, I don't want to comment anymore. :-)

I'd rather have an edit button to correct my awful typos...

Remember to use it only when you like it, but you don't want to thank the poster...

other button suggestions to express what we want to do to the poster:

-Hug

-High Five

-Slap

-Deport

Us MACs are immune..

some people would be licked more than others and others would be inappropriately licked...  and then there would also just be random lickers... im not entirely sure this would work, although I see where youre coming from I wouldnt want to lick where youre coming from...
