one student on mine is trying to open an account here but she has a hotmail.fr email and glocals rejects non.ch accounts
why is that ?

This is not true. People here have hotmail, gmail, aol, yahoo and other accounts with domains like .fr, .it, .de, .co.uk etc..etc..
obviously your friend is doing something wrong.
if she/he has registered, please ask her/him to check the spam for confirmation.

Hi,
yes as ehsaan said, i personally use yahoo.fr and i had no problem receiving messages.
