We couldn't wait for 2007 to share the news with you:
GenevaOnline was selected, out of literally thousands of online communities, as 'Hot for 2007' by an expert panel from Mashable - the web's biggest Social Networks blog.
We made it to the 'Hot for 2007' list in the 'Niche Communities' category, with about 10 other communities.
2007 will indeed be a great year for GenevaOnline, with serious site improvements planned (next up is a robust new Venue & Service Review section coming soon.
But at the end of the day success of the community will all depend on the level of members, not the level of technology.

Sorry for my long absence from the site -- going back to work has really cut into my free time! :) I loved logging on and seeing this great news straight away. I'm so happy for you guys. You definitely deserve it.

CongRATulations!! I no longer am in GE but log on regularly to GOL and STILL am making friends via the site. And the improvements are really great and the atmosphere is super unique and friendly.
I love GOL. Thanks for creating it, and really hope it will spread more to Zurich and Lucern.
