Interview with FlyBaboo’s Founder: What do you want to know?
Hello All.

In the coming weeks, we will conduct and publish a series of interviews with Geneva based people that have interesting stories and who effect the lives of GoL members.

The 1st interview will be with GoL member JulianCook.
What makes Julian 'news worthy', in addition to being a friendly GoL member, is that he's the young founder & manager of Geneva based FlyBaboo airlines.
Bet you're now sorry you rejected all his GoL chat requests, eh?

We'd love to know from you (via Email, or via a reply on this forum):
- Do you have any questions you'd like us to ask Julian?
- Who you'd like us to interview next?

Thanks and stand by,

The GOL Gang

Julian is a friend of mine and am surprised that you believe that it is some how "easier" due to the fact the guy knows people. Geneva on a commercial perspective is a small town and so its difficult not to know people. Ive watched him and baboo from the beginning and can safely say that the creation and running is due in whole to his phenomenal hard work, dedication and talent. It has nothing to do with his connections. The guy studied at Columbia business school in New York, was top of his year winning the George Soros prize then had a highflying career with Chase Manhattan aero-nautical division and so forth.

First I would like to know if Julian Cook is going to extend it's flights to spain and may be Canarian Islands?

How does he see the further evolution of its company?

Is Julian Cook an activ member of GOL and does he think that the chat and the forums could be of any use to its customers?

What is a dash 8s?

That airplane cannot reach those distances but how far can it fly?

In the last years flying to Canarian Islands has become really expensive when you have to do it during holidays.

Hello Oded,

Few q's. Could have the interview printed on Europe Today -- www.europetoday-online.com (circulation of 40,000+) in major cities of Europe.

The lack of entrepreneurial activities and interest
among the Swiss set the alarm bells ringing among the
people responsible for governing the country. The
Lausanne-based business school IMD conducted a
research providing statistics and reasons regarding
the lethargy in entrepreneurial activities among the
Swiss. In defiance of all established facts, Fly Baboo
CEO has set an example of sorts. A few questions from
Europe Today --

1. You are marketing yourself as a Swiss airline.
Traditionally, Switzerland has a very strategically
cultivated itself as a high-end brand. When a low fare
airline says they are bringing a piece of Swiss to its
customers what is one supposed to infer?

2. You have a very young team steering this FlyBaboo.
In today’s business environment doesn’t experience
count for anything?

3. Low fares, no frill airline is no longer an
innovative concept. Infact now there’s tough
competition among the budget airlines. What is your
outstanding usp to survive the competition?

4. Is this high volume, low margins business strategy
commercially viable in your business. It works well
with hamburgers but do you also make profits?

5. Switzerland is probably the only country in the
world which does not have a national airline.
Emotionally how do the Swiss feel about it? In the
long run do you see FlyBaboo filling in that gap?

6. Why and how did you start FlyBaboo?

7. What is the story behind the name? How did you come
up with a name like Fly Baboo?

8. What is the most difficult thing about being a
high-flyer at such a young age? I mean, the job you
are doing usually requires an age qualification that
spells maturity, specially if ever (God forbid) things
were going not well. Also at a personal level it is an
age when one is rather involved in building a family
which has its own high-pressured demand. How do you
cope with it all?

9. What do you have in store in the future for Fly
Baboo clients?

10. Are you actively involved with GOL? Tell us a bit
about your impressions of it.
