And replace them with whom?

Oh, The Pain of The Believer: Barack’s Betrayals Offer Lessons We Can’t Deny
  by  Danny Schechter

Journalists are not supposed to have political opinions, and yet we all do. Our “biases” are usually disguised, not blatant or overtly partisan, and can be divined in what stories we cover and how we cover them,

Even ‘just the facts, ma'am,’ journos for big Media have to decide which facts to include and which to ignore.

Our outlooks are always shaped by our worldviews, values and experience, not to mention the outlets we work for.

Which brings me to the challenge of seeking truth and recognizing it when you see it.

I have to admit that I was seduced by the idea of Barack Obama.http://www.commondreams.org/view/2011/08/30-3

Rick Perry?

there's no point in kicking Obama out unless a radical overhaul of the political system takes place first. the fake emergency of the loss of the AAA credit rating proved that the two party system has become almost completely disconnected from the reality of life for normal U.S. citizens. god help me but i believe Obama to be a good person who has to make deals with a league of devils every day. he is also guilty, like all presidents everywhere, of some terrible policy decisions - quelle surprise. my two cents is that near total lack of invovlement of citizens in their own democracies is playing a huge part in destruction of our 'civilization'. the cult of insanity led by big business, political elites and military interests will continue to ruin the lives of the overwhelming silent majority of good and decent people as long as politics remains a sport for the leisured class. scapgoating President Obama is not going to help the world and 'kicking' him out of office will achieve nothing. and just because it can't be said enough - where oh where was all the panicky screeching of the tea party activists when Bush was in office and was gleefully dismantling the constitution? dustballs rolling across the praries. but then enter president black man and all hell brakes loose. it's racism pure and simple.

When I first read of the Ugandan 'humanitarian' limited military assistance and training two thoughts came to mind: finding a home for AFRICORPS (Libyan intervention also raises this issue) but firstly the limited military assistance of the US in South East Asia i.e. South Viet Nam.  We know where that led!

Pilger refers to "satire" (though I might be inclined to call it cynical hypocrisy) in this my favorite quote from the article: "Obama's other justification also invites satire. This is the "national security of the United States". The LRA has been doing its nasty work for 24 years, of minimal interest to the United States. Today, it has few than 400 fighters and has never been weaker. However, US "national security" usually means buying a corrupt and thuggish regime that has something Washington wants. Uganda's "president-for-life" Yoweri Museveni already receives the larger part of $45 million in US military "aid" - including Obama's favourite drones. This is his bribe to fight a proxy war against America's latest phantom Islamic enemy, the rag-tag al Shabaab group based in Somalia. The RTA will play a public relations role, distracting western journalists with its perennial horror stories".

For more on American meddling in Africa and the subsequent blowback one should listen to Jeremy Scahill describe the emergence of al-Shabbab out of virtually nowhere and the role of various actors in creating the situation in Somalia and neighboring countries today - with European (France) countries cheering on the Kenyans and jumping to conclusions and pronouncements on those responsible for the abduction of an ill French national.

Obama 1.0 could be renamed Bush 3.0 (same policy, but better sales, coz MSN media is cuddling him)
