Obama under increasing pressure regarding Bradley Manning.

The tone and inflammatory language of the reporter is distasteful. However, the facts in this report speak louder than any ideologue's rhetoric can. Come on President Obama, stand up for what you believe in, forget about the political consequences for you and your party and do the right thing re: Mr. Manning.

I find neither the reporter's tone distasteful nor the language inflammatory.  I think you are wishfully hoping that Obama is a man he is not and believes things he does not.  Greenwald sums it up beautifully: "But since then, the Manning controversy exploded into national prominence and Obama has explicitly defended the treatment, leaving no doubt that it directly reflects on who he is as a leader and a person". (my emphasis): Manning, Obama and U.S. Moral Leadership by Glenn Greenwald http://www.commondreams.org/view/2011/04/11-6

Or this view on the party of compromise: Shareholder Anger at CEO Pay The Party of Compromise By LAURA FLANDERS: http://counterpunch.org/flanders04122011.html

And what sort of man would hire Jeffrey Immelt to head the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness? Is GE's Jeffrey Immelt Really an American? By DAVE LINDORFF: http://www.counterpunch.org/lindorff01242011.html
