What I and a few glocal members did this weekend... It all started late last Thursday evening - my friend "Smile" and I arrive at the Cornavin airport only to see "Mr.Pool night" taking his seat behind the counter of the gate we were departing from. I knew he worked in the airline industry... and ok, the airport is tiny, but really, not a week goes by where I don't bump into someone I know. Thanks again mate, for upgrading us to 'first class'!! Nice to finally see you outside pool halls and tuesday drinks.
So, saturday, before the sushi dinner, my London-based friend Mayu (who became Glocalized after visiting me few times in Geneva) suggested we go watch the England-France rugby game at a nearby bar, but first we met at the oldest wine bar in London (Gordon's - right next to Charing Cross station), where Mayu, Fran, and some of my london-based friends gathered. Needless to say, we never made it to the sports bar so we missed out on all the excitement of England beating France and having to experience the rowdy locals acting silly.
By 9:30, we made our way to the restaurant, where we were served a wonderful 10-course nouveau style dishes from creamy crab avocado crab rolls, rainbow roll, seared tuna, soft shell crab, baked scallops layered atop California Rolls, Scotch Dry Aged Fillet, gigantic BBQ Prawns, soup... and if that's not enough, a tray-full of desserts at the end presented in the form of sushi. Just wish I could get them to open up a store here in Geneva.
I know it was a long way to go for sushi, but I'm happy that few people did come out with me and I hope you enjoyed the food as much as I did :) As for everyone else... you can view the photos which i hope to have up soon.
