This month's spring birthday celebration certainly was packed at one point, that I was a bit worried for the 2 ladies at DaVinci's essentially doing everything. Considering I found a place that could hold the 40+ folks that came, I'm quite pleased to hear people enjoyed the live music performance (great singer/guitar player) and the open space primarily filled with Glocalers celebrating the birthday members present: Celine, Tulin, Daniella, Maria and NIR who called to voice his presence;).  For those who couldn't come at the last minute for one reason or another, well come on down next month! It's never too late for a belated celebration. 

My original plans to hold it at Cafe Cuba, but when I called to confirm the reservation, the owner wanted to a guarantee minimum of 50CHF worth of consumption per person. When I refused, they said ok 400CHF cash upfront and no minimum but space available for the entire evening, thus the reason for me changing the location.

So starting next month, this monthly event will be A "Monthly Birthday Drinks for charity".  Each month, I have been requesting from the birthday girls and boys to kindly chip in 10chf for the cakes.  Now I would like to start collecting a small contribution (i.e. 5CHF) from each of the attending members. All proceeds will go towards a charitable organization which will be named shortly. 

** If anyone out there is a good negotiator in getting establishments to provide goods, services, offers, discounts, etc, or have experience in organizing fund raisers, please contact me as I would like to organize a large FUNd raising event this summer.
