BEACH VOLLEY ON THE PLAINPALAIS !!!
It always takes a clever Newbie ( in this case, BB008) to bring a fresh activity into the spotlight and see possibilities that others may have walked past every day.

Barbara saw the volleyball net over the sand on the Plaine de Plainpalais and thought "Hmmm! Free and fun activity!" and posted it here on glocals.

We were really having a blast in the evening sun with our toes in the sand and several languages floating over the net. We also discovered that two of our players were actually ILO infiltrators (who thought we were the ILO group) but we let them stay, along with a few other not-yet-glocalers!

Thank you Barbara for bringing people together and keeping the friendly sports attitude central to the evening.

And for anyone who does not YET know Barbara, you're missing one of glocal's finest!

Kick off your shoes and join us!

Amazing fun! The only thing that was missing from the beach volley was the actual beach :) It is true though, people seemed to have fun (although some actually preferred to stay in the grass chatting while we were sweating and bleeding (literally) for the team! :D:D Thanx BBOO8 for organizing this, I am so looking forward to the next one.

I will not be around next week (will be in Spain) but I am definitely joining you guys the week after that for another 2 hours round ;)

Dear Dedicated Volleyballers (in capital letters),

Thanks so much for the nice comments - I am quite touched

Having lost most of my English (back) in Oz I have to counter with some Germanisms...

1. "Thanks for the flowers" ;) and the passion ... special thanks to the hardcore event supporters (intl, reno & Co) who have been getting larger in number during the last 2 weeks. As I already mentioned in posting for this week, courageous players, not afraid of awfully scratchy and smelly sand - which leads to the next terrible translation that doesn't really work...

2. "Only hard ones survive"

3. Party Rule II: "A party is only as good as its guests"!!!!!!:hehe:

Thanks as well to GLOCALS!!! what a great initiative!!! ...even shy guys (like myself) get the blues :w00t: and can enjoy GVA wildly :D

Looking forward to hit the better inflated ball again!!
