We tempted fate by declaring the Curry Club would have a summer theme, so after weeks of warm weather we had of course a wet evening , although it didn't dampen our spirits.
We certainly had a full house at the Royal India with 46 people attending with a good mix of old and new. After determining who had to pay the drinking forfaits for not wearing summer attire , it was down to the serious business of eating, drinking and chatting.
The owner decided that we need a lesson in Bollywood dancing once we had eaten so he cleared a space, and with a few reluctant volunteers (Jerome) and not so reluctant (Dean) we were treated to the spectacle of the "unscrewing two lightbulbs" dance. Photos to follow will explain all.
Well done Dean for organising what is becoming a "must do" event
PS. Thankfully we have Juana to thank for collecting the money each time saving any confusion at the end of the evening

Thanks Trev for summing that up nicely! Actually it was 48 people...our largest one yet...I'll stress YET!! Plenty of food, many hard-core regulars and a good bunch of new faces too... not sure if after all that Bollywood dancing we'll be seeing them again...I'm dreading the photos!!
Thanks to everyone that made the effort on the summer theme, yes, not a true summer evening...but it did get a bit hot and sticky...or was that just me?? Anyway, it's official, the Curry Club has held the first Summer party of the year!
One final request... If you enjoyed the meal, restaurant, staff etc, at the Royal India, please take a few minutes to post your views on the 'Local Reviews' section. Even if you have something negative to say, it will give chance for the restaurant to address feedback, good or bad. Please remember, last night was a private party, so consider that with any feedback.
Thanks again everyone for making this such a popular and enjoyable social event.
Dean.

I was not at the Curry night, but met some GoLers who participated and then came to the NMD. They all said the Curry night was great, both in attendance and in atmosphere.
I think what you do is just amazing...

I've sent them all for loading ,so keep your eye on the picture page Hobbes, I think I caught everyone, although it really needed a video taken to get the full effect. But I'm sure when we comment on the picture you will have the full flavour of the evening, even when Jerome wore sunglasses it wasn't enough of a disguise.

Another great curry night with some Hawain Hibiscus, Thongs and Bolly-boogying to boot. Plans of international expansion also intriguing.
