Curry Club
It had to happen! Dean has been adopted by the owner of the Royal Indian , after being given a Indian Costume last night at the dinner , we now all expect Dean to wear it to every Curry Night.

It was nice to see a few new faces (although nothing wrong with the old ones!) , especially those who had tried to come before and found it full.

As usual at the Royal India we took sometime to get settled, as everyone drank and chatted (or paid their money to Jo) , before the buffet was brought out.

Dean gave us his pre dinner welcome , assisted by Vinay on cymbals ( we must get him to sit down while Dean talks!!) and then we all queued for the buffet (ladies 1st!) , then spent the rest of the night eating , chatting and more drinking.

Another good night Dean thanks

Thank you Deano for organizing this event. Everything was perfect! The food, the atmosphere, and oh dear the jokes I told!
The boss is here! I must look busy! Oof, he went to get a coffee.
As I was saying my thanks, I'll continue:
Thank you Julian for the thrilling story about how you got that curious tattoo you were so reluctant to show us.
Thank you Jo for taking all the restaurant money and then pretending to generously buy rounds for everyone.
Thank you Deano for the elephant-washing demonstration in your new frock.
And Peter, we are so looking forward to your slide-show presentation "My Years in Tanzania". I think during the Sizzle Beast this Sunday, you would find a large captive audience more than willing to huddle together under the umbrellas and hear all about it.
Thank you Trev and Jo for giving me a lift home, sorry I got you lost - you did arrive safely, I presume?
Love to all,
M

Julian, Do you want a list of attendee sent to your email (and everyone else who attended) or just a list in the forum?

You saw how efficient Jo & Dean were with the list and collecting monies, should be simple.

Good Indian food though I would have liked it more spicy especially the curry! More oomph would be excellent!! Nice meeting new people. Even had the owner trying to enlist me in helping his business by bringing my colleagues! He must have noticed that it was my first time in the Curry Club as I found out that you folks go there regularly.

what a night. what's more, I FINALLY made it to your Curry Event and finally met (like yourself and Mr. LoLerLand) after all these months. Great to see friends I haven't seen in ages.. All thanks to the power of the DeanoCurry. Can wait to see photos of you in your new outfit. What a laugh Mr. Royal India is in his presentation of your gift... making it look like your name was drawn out from the hat (or in this case the 'yoghurt bucket'). He had me fooled until he finally revealed there was only ONE name in there.
Let me know if you want suggestions for your London Curry trip. There are a few great places which I used to frequent with my work colleagues. UMeCo.

Is it me or did this curry night seem more civilized than usual? Maybe because James wasn't there...those of you wondering why, he was (and still is) recovering from a stag weekend! Great to see so many new faces, it was good to hear everyone enjoyed it, there was loads of food left so I guess no-one went home hungry!! I was very grateful for my gift from Vinay...I just need the courage to wear it now!! Thanks Jo for collecting the money once again, that really helps - Thanks Glen (gaffer of the Lady Godiva pub) for taking a night off to come along, I hope your staff behaved in your absence! And thanks everyone who came for the first time, it's always good to meet new people in Geneva and extend the social circle, I know a lot of friendships have been made via the curry club, I'm humbled by it's success so far and all the kind comments people give to me. I think the London Curry weekend will be a blast! Although I haven't told the misses yet...as long as we all go way before the baby is due I should be able to get a week-end pass! So mid August will be the latest time to do it! Ok, thanks everyone...see you all again very soon! Dean.
