Well after 18 months of the Curry Club we eventually escaped the confines of Geneva and ventured into Nyon to savour the delights of the Sultan Restaurant.
Starting with a well deserved pint in the Fisherman's Pub after the exhausting journey of 19 mins by train ! As each person arrived at the pub Jo (the treasurer) quickly pounced and demanded their money . At 8pm a casual walk to the restaurant , although they did leave without telling someone who was still at the bar.. (I had to run to catch up)
The smell of the restaurant hit you as we approached and once inside the aroma was stronger making our mouths water.
Sitting was an issue in the restaurant as we were split between two rooms making the normal banter and conversation limited to near neighbours.
The food did not disappoint, especially for the vegetarians amongst us with such variety in the buffet.
I'm sure we'll be back again , but perhaps with the seating arrangements changed

Thanks Dean for organising this. I am a "vege" and yes there was ample choice for me. The spinach dish was excellent and I lined up for a second of that! The welcome, the service and the presentation, in fact everything about it made it a great night out.
The lychees and mango/coconut custard were an unexpected bonus. A wonderful finish to the venture to Nyon.
I would certainly want to be counted in for another "Sultan" banquet.

Definitely worthwhile the journey from Geneva to Nyon. I'm actually considering taking the boat (=navibus) next time....and I really hope there will be a a next time! Nice place, very tasty food, great variety and they also made an effort with the presentation!
OK, the seating arrangement wasn't great, but I personally didn't mind sitting in a separate room (I'm used to being unseen ;))
